TSA LUNG and TIBETAN SOUND HEALING

Please join us for a workshop based on the popular book Tibetan Sound Healing by Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche; edited by Marcy Vaughn. In this two-day workshop Marcy Vaughn will instruct and guide us in the simple yet elegant practice of the Five Warrior Syllables as revealed in ancient texts from the Bon Buddhist spiritual tradition of Tibet. The Tsa Lung yoga movements help us to clear obstacles to practice by working with body movement, breath and mental awareness at each of the five chakras in the energy body.

In this practice we chant five “seed syllables” or sacred sounds, known for their healing properties, while bringing our attention to five corresponding chakras or energy centers in the body. The combination of sound and one’s open attention provides the opportunity to identify and release habitual patterns of thought and self-doubt and connect directly with the clear, open space of being.

Sounding the seed syllables in a group provides a lovely and powerful entrance into a deep, healing meditation, helping each present to calm the mind’s chatter and discover a peaceful inner richness and stillness. The powerful resonance created by these sounds is a direct and potent medicine that can heal at all levels of experience - physical, emotional and mental. This practice presents a simple yet powerful path leading from internal open awareness to spontaneous positive expression. It can become a vehicle to experience positive change in yourself, in your relationships with family, friends, and colleagues, and in relation to your community and culture.
